Music News - Madonna Achieves Record Solo Artist Through the 'MDNA'


Madonna's latest album 'MDNA' success topping the charts in England, and set a new record for album sales for a solo artist.
The singer is celebrating 53 years of the 12th album tops and beat the record of Elvis Presley with 11 albums. Since its launch MDNA album sold over 39,000 copies and was heading for the charts in the U.S..

The title is an acronym for the name Madonna drew criticism from anti-drug campaigners, due to its similarity with class A form of ecstasy, MDMA.

Last week, the singer also invited controversy when referring to dance and drugs on the stage in the U.S.. He exclaimed, "How many people in this crowd who saw Molly?"
Molly is a slang word for the MDNA. However, Madonna has denied allegations that he was advocating drug use. "I do not support the use of drugs and I never use it," he was quoted Dailymail.
Madonna added that his words were addressed to a song on her new album, 'Have You Seen Molly' written by Cedric Gervais.

Although it earned the accolade of the most successful solo album, Madonna has not beat the record of The Beatles hits that dominated the past 15 number one albums. During the 29-year career, she has sold 200 million albums and collecting revenues of U.S. $ 500 million equivalent to Rp1, 4 trillion just from the album. viva
